I spent most of the weekend sitting around at my place relaxing, watching movies, and working on my website. One of these activities doesn’t fit, can you guess which one? Things that were fixed:
- Photo gallery fixed and fully integrated into the site theme!
- Japan pics posted. (It’s about time.)
- New, much cleaner archives page created with a bit of custom php.
- Background maintenance on the server side to make themes more easily readable.
- Styles upgraded. Ordered lists now indent correctly instead of display in the margins.
Go check out the Japan pics and be on the lookout for new content after this week. McCall and James are in town!

I’m back up and crawling finally. The biggest hurdle is out of the way. Watch for updates soon, including more music files, more images, and more mayhem.
P.S. Many thanks to mjg of pfzt and staticky fame for the blogspace.

Those of you who I’ve spoken to recently probably know that I have decided to give up Capoeira for the foreseeable future. I have a lot of love and respect for the jogo de Capoeira, but I feel that it is time to pursue a passion I’ve had for years, but never acted upon… music. I’ve started a new page [here](http://baudburn.com/music) which should now be linked in the sidebar.
The goal is to post a new recording once a week of one thing I’ve accomplished that week. This will serve as an audible tracker of my progress as the list grows. More details of my plan are posted on the page itself.
This week’s recording is of a song called Lavender’s blue.

As most of you probably know by now, my website went down for the count in December.
**The short summary**: I left Vandy and my server left with me.
Well I’m back with a shiny new site based off the old design. There will be bugs here and there for a while. It will be a bumpy ride, but stick around, I’ve got some new plans for this place.
** Update: ** The site should now be auto-cross posting to livejournal as it was before. Hello to all those out there in LJ land.

While reviewing my apache logs I noticed over 200 404ed links from my site. Most notably, the [archives](http://www.baudburn.com/archives.html) section was totally broken as well as a few links to papers on the [computer architecture](http://www.baudburn.com/technology/CompArch.html) page of my [technology](http://www.baudburn.com/technology/) section. These should be fixed now. My apologies.

Spent a little time to day fixing up the commenting section. New features include:
1. No more annoying popup window.
2. Style and layout is now consistent with the rest of the site.
3. Comment page has the original story at the top with chronologically sorted comments displayed below.
4. Consolidation of comments. [LJ](http://www.livejournal.com/) users now post comments to the same database as local users. Sorry [LJ](http://www.livejournal.com/) users, your icon’s won’t work on my site, but I feel this was the best way to go.
5. Page anchor set at the leave a comment section. [LJ](http://www.livejournal.com/) users can link directly to the post a comment section by utilizing this anchor.
It is now 100% less annoying. Check it out by dropping me a comment.

The technology corner has been brought back online. It is a showcase of projects that I have completed that are of a technical nature. Currently the only section that is active is the Computer Architecture section. I have a few talks to post as well, particularly my 802.11 wireless network hacking talk, but I’ll save it for a rainy day. Check it out [here](http://www.baudburn.com/technology).

Last night I spent a little time getting my [photo gallery](http://www.baudburn.com/gallery) online. The fun part was seeing how easy CSS made my life in regards to getting the gallery embedded into my site layout. So please, enjoy my pictures. There is a also comment system in place in the gallery to let you anonymously comment on the photos within.

I have been working on and off on a new layout for [www.baudburn.com](http://www.baudburn.com). I am very pleased with the result so far, though it is still very much a work in progress. If you are reading this, leave me a comment on what you like or do not like about the design and layout. This represents one of the first true public displays of personal creativity I have ever released. By all means a small event, but nonetheless a triumph for me. It was created entirely using CSS and displays well in [Safari](http://www.apple.com/safari). If it does not display well in your browser I would like to know.

##I feel dirty.##
I broke down and did it. I created a live journal. It seems like everyone and their freaking sister here in Nashville posts to livejournal. I thought that I should join in, but I didn’t want to have to run two sites, so I came up with my own solution to the problem. I have configured my website to automagically cross post to livejournal whenever I update my website blog. It’s a great little piece of software that I have to thank Gavin over at http://www.halkeye.net/ for. It certainly makes my life easier as I really don’t have time to code something like that from scratch right now.
That is all for now. Good night.
