Confessions of a fanboy.

I am a fanboy. I’m one of the people I have made fun of in the past. I’m no better than they are. I bought the new NIN cd, with teeth, tonight at 12:08 am the day of it’s release. As if that wasn’t bad enough, I bought both the dual cd and the vinyl version.

**Why?**

Because the Vinyl version has an extra track on it and because it’s part of my collection. Yes, it’s that bad. Listening to this takes me back to my angry highschooler days. Sometimes, when things get bad, I fall back into that mood, and NIN, the soundtrack of my adolescence, is strangely cathartic way. So there you have it kids, straight from the fanboy’s mouth.

I’ve been listening to it for some time now, and I can say whole-heartedly that it is among his best. Like with every other album he’s done, it’s in a totally different direction than the previous, but I give it two huge thumbs up.

I downloaded it, but I like it. It isn’t a concept album like his last few, it’s just a collection of good songs (like most albums). I like it.

I wonder if Trent would dislike you for having such devotion to his music. I bet he would!

Trent would dislike me for a number of reasons, I’m sure. But sadly (and I admit it), I’d keep comming back for more of his musical-table scraps. I’m pathetic.

That’s okay, I still really like my angry high school music. Even when I’m not angry. I never was a NIN fan though.

yeah, i gotta go get it soon… i’ve been assiduously avoiding paying close attention to what i’ve heard pre-release, because i want to really devote a bit of time to it.

NIN was also very much a part of my Jr. High and HS days, for better or worse (probably worse — a martyr complex isn’t healthy for a 15 year old and it turns out girls mostly aren’t into the smart but sullen type). I used to walk the dog and play Pretty Hate Machine on endless loop. I must’ve listened to that a few thousand times.

    Anyway. W00t.
